Der jüngste Report von Distimo widmet sich den erfolgreichsten Apps aus den div. Mobile App Stores, darunter Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World, Android Market, Nokia App Store, Palm App Catalog und Windows Marketplace. Die Daten entstammen dem dritten Quartal und dem US-Markt. Zentrale Ergebnisse:
- Die populärsten Free Apps in den jeweiligen Stores waren in Q3 2010: iBooks (iPad App von Apple), Type n Talk (iPhone App von Jirbo), BlackBerry Messenger (BlackBerry App von RIM), Pandora (Android App von Pandora; ZumZum (Symbian App von innerActive), Facebook (Palm App, Facebook) sowie Microsoft My Phone (Windows Mobile App von Microsoft Corp.).
- Die populärsten Paid Apps sind Pages (iPad App von Apple), Angry Birds (iPhone App von Clickgamer.com), BeBuzz – LED Colors and Audible Reminders (BlackBerry App vom deutschen App-Systemhaus Bellshare), , Beautiful Widgets (Android App von LevelUp Studio), ToonWarz (Symbian App von Polarbit), , mCraig – Mobile Craigslist Browser (Palm App von SplashData Inc) und Meon (Windows Mobile App von Manbolo) .
- Die meisten Spiele unter den Top 100 finden sich im Apple App Store for iPhone (55% free, 55% paid) , gefolgt vom Windows Marketplace for Mobile (23% free, 45% paid) und dem Apple App Store for iPad (25% free, 40% paid). Spiele schaffen es am seltensten bis ganz nach oben in der BlackBerry App World (12,5% free, 28% paid) und dem Palm App Catalog (33% free, 16% paid).
- Lupis Labs Software ist im Android Market ein besonders erfolgreicher Spieleproduzent – ihr Robo Defense zählt dort zu den erfolgreichsten Free (Nr. 7) wie auch Paid Apps (Nr. 1). Beide Versionen verzeichnen über 250.000 Downloads.
